Searching Subscriber Statistics by IP Address [Документация VAS Experts]

Subscriber IP Address Statistics Search

You can view statistics in the following sections of the QoE Analytics in the GUI:

  1. Raw full netflow (by default, data is stored for 2 hours)
  2. NAT Flow (by default, data is stored for 14 days, but this section might not be available under your QoE license).

If the subscriber's activity falls within the default data retention period, proceed to the section Searching for Subscriber Activity in the SSG GUI.
If the subscriber was active outside of the default time frame, it is recommended to add the NAT Flow section (preferably) — instructions or increase the retention period for Raw full netflow (requires a lot of disk space) — instructions.

Searching for Subscriber Activity in the SSG GUI

The ability to view subscriber activity data will become available after generating the NAT log — instructions here.
In the SSG GUI, navigate to the QoE Analytics section → NAT Flow.
In the NAT Flow section, you need to:

  1. Select the period
  2. Enable the filters “Source IPv4-address” and “Destination IPv4-Address” (check the boxes)
  3. Set values for the enabled filters and apply the changes

Option 2. Raw full netflow

In the SSG GUI, navigate to the QoE Analytics section → Raw full netFlow.
In the Raw Full netflow section, you need to:

  1. Select the period (by default, stored for only 2 hours!)
  2. Enable the filters “Source IPv4-address” and “Destination IPv4-Address” (check the boxes)
  3. Set values for the enabled filters and apply the changes

Enabling the NAT Flow Section

A QoE Standard license is required to enable this section. If you plan to use only this section under the license, you can purchase a discounted license. For more information about licenses and to enable the section, contact your VAS Experts manager.

To be able to view subscriber IP address statistics in the future, it is recommended to enable the NAT Flow section, as its functionality should suffice for this task. NAT Flow determines time with an accuracy of up to 15 minutes; by default, data is stored for 14 days, but this period can be extended. Reports can be viewed in the GUI in the QoE Analytics section → NAT Flow. The ability to view subscriber activity data will become available after generating the NAT log — instructions here.

Configuring Data Retention Period

If you need to configure the data retention period, you can do this in the GUI in the section Administrator → GUI Configuration → Settings → QoE Stor: DB lifetime settings. For Raw full netflow, the item QoE Stor fullflow main log lifetime in hours (1). For NAT Flow, the item QoE Stor NAT aggregated log lifetime in days (2).

When increasing the data retention period, it is recommended to enable the deletion of old data when the disk is full: Administrator → GUI Configuration → Settings → QoE Stor: Disk settings → Item Enable force moving data for DEFAULT disk – select Enable data removing! → Item Move factor for DEFAULT disk – set the value to 0.1.

You can find out how much disk space logs occupy in the QoE Analytics section → Administrator → Reports → Tablespace info.
