Purpose of Use

Thank you for your interest in our solutions!

VAS Experts is a software developer for network traffic analysis and management. Our solutions for internet service providers and mobile network operators enable connectivity for more than 30 million subscribers worldwide and process 35 Tbps of traffic.

The company's key solution is the multifunctional Stingray platform, which replaces a set of disparate network equipment and simplifies network scaling, administration, and maintenance.

The core of the platform is a high-performance, in-house-developed DPI engine that detects more than 6,200 protocols and applications using a continuously updated database. Stingray uses the CUPS (Control and User Plane Separation) architectural concept, according to which the control and user planes in the network are separated and operate on different physical and logical elements:

  • Control Plane – all the logic: where traffic comes from and where it goes, which scenarios and rules are executed.
  • User Plane – processing of all traffic at maximum speed with minimal latency.

Thanks to this separation, high load on the User Plane does not affect the logic of the system's operation, and complex Control Plane logic does not create performance degradation.

For telecom operators, Stingray performs the functions of:

For the core networks of MNO and MVNO operators, the platform offers:

  • PGW (Packet Data Network Gateway) – a gateway within the EPC architecture
  • PCEF – enforcement of quality-of-service policies and flexible tariffication
  • ePDG – a solution for launching Wi-Fi Calling (VoWiFi)
  • PCRF Proxy – targeted network management based on the operator's base station LAC and TAC lists
  • LBS – a subscriber location determination module

Why Stingray?

The Stingray platform analyzes network traffic, identifies the protocols in use, and provides channel management. Because the solution is software-based, it is easy to scale, update, and maintain: the operator does not need to maintain a heterogeneous set of equipment, which reduces costs and simplifies building a reliable network core. This, in turn, improves service quality and subscriber loyalty.

Using Stingray increases the operator's business profitability through more efficient bandwidth utilization, equipment cost savings, subscriber behavior analytics, and rapid mitigation of threats from both outside and inside the network.

Where to start?

The "Connection Schemes" page describes the options for deploying Stingray in an operator's network and their features.
The "Options List" section contains a list of all Stingray functions with detailed descriptions of each.
