    -DPI platform runs on general purpose computers. However, due to deep code optimization and integration with the hardware, the hardware configuration has to meet some specific requirements: 
    -  - CPU has to support SSE 4.2 staring from [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nehalem_(microarchitecture)|Intel Nehalem]] (Xeon E5/E3 series is recommended but not required). 
    -  - The network cards on chipsets Intel 82575/82576/82580/82599/i350 or x540 with 2, 4 or 6 ports are required to process the traffic. 
    -  - Bypass is supported for cards Silicom. 
    -  - Any network adapter to handle control connection by SSH (usually the motherboard integrated one is OK).
